Essa defers donation to Gibson Centre

Essa council has deferred making a contribution to the Gibson Centre in Allison until the preparation of its 2007 budget.

Doug Drysdale Sr. told council that the economic spin-off from the centre should not be underestimated.

"It's a remarkable facility and I think that the attraction of it will bring economic benefits to the whole South Simcoe facility," he said.

Council was asked to consider donating $25,000 to the centre which would see a cafe or studio space named after the township.
