Road closes due to serious collision on Hwy 89

(Twp of Innisfil, On) On the February 5th at approximately 10:00 a.m. Nottawasaga OPP officers were dispatched to a serious motor vehicle collision on Highway 89 west of the 5th Sideroad of the Twp of Innisfil.

The collision involved a Green Ford Ranger Pick up Truck and a White Chevrolet Cavelier. Technical Traffic Collision Investigators from Nottawasaga OPP and from Bracebridge OPP were dispatched to the scene to investigate.

There were very serious injuries to the female driver of the Cavelier and the male driver of the pick up. Both Drivers were transported to Stevenson Memorial Hospital where they remain undergoing medical treatment.

The male has since been transported by Ambulance to Sunnybrook Medical Center in Toronto.

The highway was closed for the investigation between County Road 27 in Cookstown and east to the 400 Highway for several hours. The investigation is continuing.

Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed any incidents described above where no suspects have been identified or where an investigation is continuing or anyone who has any information regarding these incidents, to contact Nottawasaga OPP at 905- 729-4004 or Crime stoppers at 1-800- 222-TIPS (8477).
