20-year-old charged with trespassing

Essa Twp - On Sunday, around 10:35 a.m., Nottawasaga OPP were dispatched to a residence on Thornton Ave. in Essa where a 20 year old male was refusing to vacate a residence when requested by its owners.

Police arrived to find the male and his 19-year-old girlfriend still on the property, still refusing to comply with the property owner's request. The 20-year-old male, then a resident of Thornton (now no fixed address), became agitated and physically aggressive with the officers when they arrested him and he resisted arrest.

The 20-year-old male was charged with Trespassing under the Trespass to Property Act and was cautioned for Obstruct Police, Resist Arrest and Cause a Disturbance.

The female left the premise co-operatively without further incident.
