Local curler heading to provincials

Local area curler, Cory Schuh is heading to Oshawa next week to participate in the Bantam Boys Provincial Curling Championships.

Schuh, the vice, from Stroud, along with Scott Howard, skip, from Midland, Scott Brandon, second, from Coldwater and Jordan Moreau, the lead from Midland formed the team with the hopes of a shot of getting to the provincial championships. Although the teammates curl out of different clubs, they are representing their zone and curling out of the Midland Curling Club.

The rockin team convincingly won their zone competition in Coldwater two weeks ago. They headed over to Chesley for their regional competition; after losing their first game in a double-knockout format they came back to win four in a row to advance.

This will be Cory's second trip to a Provincial Championship. Last April, he and his brother Kelly, along with Denise Brown and Brooke Curtis represented Stroud Curling Club where they placed second, losing the final on the last shot. Schuh and Howard have both played in a Junior circuit since September and are hopeful that their hard work, dedication and desire to win will pay off!
