Proposed Big Bay Point Resort a jewel in our crown Dear editor, Last week I was invited, as the President of the Residents of Innisfil Association, to attend the latest charrette offered to Innisfil by the proponents of the Big Bay Point Resort. What an exciting experience! The energy level was constantly at peak - so many ideas, so many artists drawing new concepts so many different golf course designs - the new ideas came out of the energy-charged room at a record pace. The new concept has room for an 18 hole golf course on the west, environmental protection in the centre of the plan, and hotel facilities, a l000 slip marina, town houses-walking distance to the marina, a curved wide boardwalk at the eastern end of the marina, a three hundred seat black box theatre, perhaps even a school for the arts! There's room for nature walks, bird watching, fishing off the dock, listening to live concerts, attending local festivals to say nothing of the winter amenities. Skating on the village pond, Ice fishing, cross country skiing - the list is endless! To say nothing of the jobs created.(over 1000) This project will truly be a jewel in Innisfil's crown. We will become the destination that will be the envy of other towns in Ontario. All we need now is a transit system to knit the town's old and new amenities together! Our group is more than 100 members strong, and we can't wait for the approvals to be granted. The Big Bay Point Resort concept is what Innisfil needs, and what the members of our group want. Yours in great anticipation, Nola Wale, President, Residents of Innisfil Association Inc. |
