Alliston grow op comes to abrupt halt

New Tecumseth - Last Tuesday at 7:42 p.m. members of the Huronia Combined Force Drug Unit and Nottawasaga OPP executed a search warrant on an 8th Avenue residence in Alliston seizing a large quantity of marijuana and arresting four men.

An indoor marijuana grow operation came to an abrupt end when officers entered the residence with a Controlled Drug and Substance Act warrant to arrest four men who were in the process of harvesting a crop. Officers seized 655 marijuana plants at various stages of growth with a wholesale value of $61,000. The officers also seized $5000 of offence related grow operation equipment.

A hydro metre was found to be bypassed to service the grow operation as well.

The four accused charged with Production of Marijuana, Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking, Theft of Electricity and Mischief Under $5000 are Michael Wise, 30, who resided at the 8th Avenue home, Luca Stallone, 37, of Innisfil, and a father/son team of Giuseppe DeMaria, 43, and GianCarlo DeMaria, 21, both of Woodbridge.

All four accused were held in custody for a bail hearing on February 14th.
