Tupling Insurance - a welcomed addition to Innisfil

A staple in Bradford for over 50 years, Tupling Insurance opened a branch in Innisfil last month to meet the needs of an ever growing community.

"In Innisfil, we want to be a long term established business and we are here to help the community with their insurance needs," said Tupling President Scott Tupling.

Tupling Insurance is a member of the Insurance Brokers Association of Ontario who keeps them up to date with current insurance needs and trends.

In regards to Personal Insurance, Tupling said they cover a variety areas; auto, motorcycle, snowmobiles, ATV's, motor homes, condo's, cottages, watercraft, campers and tenants insurance. Travel insurance and party alcohol liability insurance is also carried by Tupling.

Commercial insurance needs include automobile fleets and individual, office and retail packages, contractors, manufacturing, industrial, farm, garage, inland marine, wholesale and environmental pollution.

Tupling Insurance is partnered with 10 Star Brokers when covering life and group insurance needs.

With over 20 companies Tupling Insurance represents, what started out as a one man show has grown into a booming business, catering to the needs of a rural/urban community.

In 1952, Scott's father Ken started the business offering general insurance needs to the community. As the client base grew, so did the need for home, car, commercial and farming insurance. Tupling Insurance represented more companies to provide competitive rates for their clients.

"As the community grew, so did our client base," Tupling said.

His father Ken was active in the community.. Scott said his father was always involved with the community and always participated on various town projects.

Scott, following in his father's footsteps, graduated from Mohawk College in 1982 and joined the company full time. When the nineties came across our calendar, Tupling Insurance moved to its current location, 88 Barrie Street, and grew to almost 10 employees. Another big step for the company occurred when Aubrey Stewart Insurance Brokers merged with Tupling. Again, their staff and client base grew to accommodate the needs of the community.

After celebrating their 50th anniversary in 2002, Scott took over the reigns as president of the company his father started. With almost 20 employees between the two locations, Tupling said the decision to open a branch in Innisfil was needed.

"We felt there was a need and an opportunity for an insurance broker in Alcona," he said. "This is going to be an area of growth, and we will be providing personal service to Alcona and the surrounding area."

Tupling said people want to deal with someone they know, someone local; not a voice on the other end of the phone who is working in an office in Toronto.

"People want to deal with us because we provide personal customer service and we're local."
