Welcome home, soldier
by Susan Stein

A hearfelt welcome to Jonathan Nebel, son of Robert and Cathy Nebel, who has returned from Afghanistan.

Corporal Jonathan Nebel of the 2nd Service Battalion, was stationed in Kandahar since the middle of August. From there he with his battalion were involved in carrying supplies, keeping the supply routes safe.

He witnessed the deadly attacks by insurgents and credits his safe return to the prayers said for him at St. John's Anglican Church, Cookstown and by his parents.

Jonathan's involvement with the military started already as a student at Bradford Highschool with the co-op programme, then as reservist in Bosnia and joining the Air Force.

He along with his comrades came home changed.

More than ever they appreciate our freedom and hope., that their service in Afghanistan will bring a resemblance of freedom to the innocent people there.

Right now Jonathan is enjoying his loving home and contemplates his future.

Thank you Jonathan.
