Hawks Injection Depot heads to final four in OMHA

Innisfil WinterHawks Injection Depots Atom AE team advances to the Semi Finals of OMHA with a series win over Newmarket Redman. The coaching staff and parents are extremely proud of the teams accomplishments and would like to invite everyone to come out and cheer on the team in the Semi- Finals against Barrie. We would also like to thank the Innisfil Minor Hockey Association for coming out on Sunday and supporting the team in the 6th and deciding game against Newmarket, what a great showing of fans in the stands for the kids. Innisfil starts their semi-final round against Barrie on Saturday March 3. GO HAWKS GO!!!

GAME 1, SAT. FEB 17 - Newmarket 4, Innisfil 1, Newmarket came out flying with a couple of quick goals to throw Innisfil off their game. Innisfil's only goal scored by Zach Morgan, assisted by Justin McKinnon. With strong goaltending by Ron Laird and hard tough defense by Caitlin Beauvais, Matthew Collu and Kaleb Gray, Innisfil fought hard until the final buzzer.

GAME 2, SUNDAY FEB 18 - Newmarket 1, Innisfil 1, What an amazing game Innisfil had, with 2 goals disallowed, this did not stop Innisfil from charging. Even a 10 minute overtime period could not solve the tie, each team takes home a point. Innisfil's goal scored by Stuart Manson assisted by Josh Columbus and Aaron Shedlosky. Mason Payne stood tall between the pipes for Innisfil stopping a ton of shots to keep the team in the series.

GAME 3, WEDNESDAY FEB 21- Newmarket 1, Innisfil 3, Innisfil came out flying with the hard fought game early Innisfil was determined to get a win and Ron Laird was amazing in goal to allow Innisfil to tie up the series with 3 points apiece. Innisfil's goals scored by Adam Spragg, Jesse Tsikaris and Aaron Shedlosky, with assists going to Walker Curtis, Evan DiDiminico, Tanner Young, Jesse Tsikaris, Stuart Manson and Caitlin Beauvais. The boys on the blue line Kaleb Gray and Matthew Collu were tough and strong to help Innisfil get the win.

GAME 4, THURS. FEB 22- Newmarket 2, Innisfil 0. Innisfil played hard the entire 40 minutes with strong forward skating by Damian Butcher, Josh Columbus and Justin McKinnon. Unfortunately Innisfil could not put the puck in the net. Manson Payne player hard for Innisfil in goal and Stuart Manson, Tanner Young and Kaleb Gray played hard on defense. "GO HAWKS GO"

GAME 5, SAT. FEB 24 - Newmarket 2, Innisfil 3. Holy Moly what a game. Innisfil was down 2-0 with 2:46 left in the 3rd period when Stuart Manson, Innisfil captain took a shot from the blue line to put it in the top corner for Innisfil's first goal. Innisfil coaches pulled the goalie with 1:02 left in the game and Zach Morgan took a pass from Stuart Manson and found the net for the tying goal. Here we go another overtime period to decide Innisfil's fate. With 8 second into overtime Josh Columbus took his position in front of the net and scored the winning goal, assisted by Jesse Tsikaris and Adam Spragg. " AND THE CROWD WENT WILD AND NEWMARKET DID NOT KNOW WHAT HIT THEM."

GAME 6, SUN. FEB 25- Newmarket 1, Innisfil 5, With the Stroud Arena packed with Fans for the 6th and do or die game for both teams, Innisfil came out and showed everyone what they are made of. TRUE HOCKEY HEART. With what the coaches thought was their best game all season the team played together passed, scored and defended their goalie Ron Laird with amazing team effort. Innisfil's goals scored by Aaron Shedlosky, Stuart Manson, Adam Spragg, Damian Butcher and Jesse Tsikaris. Innisfil's assists went to Zach Morgan, Matthew Collu (3), Walker Curtis and Adam Spragg. What a total team effort by Caitlin Beauvais, Josh Columbus, Kaleb Gray and Tanner Young. With a few players away with the flu for the weekend games the team stepped up to obtain the win and head onto the final 4 in OMHA.
