Big Bay Point OMB Pre-Hearing rescheduled

An Ontario Municipal Board pre-hearing on the Big Bay Point resort development scheduled for last week has been deferred until April 12.

County director of planning Ian Bender said Tuesday that the pre-hearing ,which was to be held last Wednesday (February 28), was delayed in order to allow more time for the details of the settlement to be completed by all parties.

"We have agreement for an outline settlement but the additional time will allow all of us to complete all of the details" he said.

Simcoe County council approve a compromise solution on the proposal at a special meeting on February 21.

Bender said the deferral of the pre-hearing has meant that the scheduled OMB hearing on the proposal for May 28 has also been moved ahead.

It will be held on July 16.
