Innisfil Public Library's Amazing March Break Challenge: out-read, outplay, out-party!

Why watch TV when you can be part of the action?

Don't just watch another reality series this March Break, be a part of one during the Innisfil Public Library's Amazing March Break Challenge. Featuring episodes such as The Amazing Scavenger Race, Gross Factor, Junkyard Inventions, and Reading Survivors, the week promises to be filled with action, adventure and loads of fun! Join our Drum Circle and try your hand at drumming using percussion instruments from around the world. Or find out what you need to know to survive in the wilderness. Did you know that a poisonous rattle snake makes its home in Ontario? Learn about the snakes of Ontario with the interactive program Sciensational Sssnakes.

Innisfil Public Library has something to offer kids of all ages this March Break including a colouring contest, a puppet show aimed at children 0-6 and a fun family concert by the fantastic Running Shoes that is guaranteed to have you up and dancing. The library will also be showing Happy Feet, Night at the Museum and Eragon on the big screen.

The Running Shoes

Ages: all Cost: $2

A fun family concert by the fantastic Running Shoes! The little ones will enjoy using simple instruments to play along with their favourite tunes. Join us as we dance and sing along at this musical event that's sure to entertain all ages.

Discover the wonders of the world without leaving the library. Brave deserts, scale mountains, and traverse the oceans to complete this amazing race.

Sciensational Sssnakes:

Ages: 4+ Cost: $4

Did you know that a poisonous rattle snake makes its home in Ontario? Find out about the snakes that live in our province: where they live, what they eat, and how important they are to local eco-systems. You'll even have the chance to touch one of these amazing creatures.

Drum Circle:

Ages: 8+ Cost:$5

Can you feel the beat? Be part of a drum circle using percussion instruments from around the world to create amazing rhythms. Instructor Phil Shaw of Shaw Percussion and Orion Drums is a drummer, drumming instructor, and drum builder.

Junkyard Inventions:

Put your creativity and recycling savvy to the test and help your team create the ultimate junkyard invention.

Gross Factor:

Can you stomach the Gross Factor? Teams will go up against each other in this icky competition of stunts and stomach churning challenges. Prizes will be awarded to the winners! Food will be awarded to the winners!

Reading Survivors

Be a part of a reading expedition! Help your team be the first to the top of the mountain by reading! The team that reads the most during March Break will reach the summit first!
