South Simcoe Police Cocaine Possession On Saturday March 3, at approximately 9:15 p.m. police stopped a motor vehicle on Kate Avenue in the Town of Innisfil to investigate it for unauthorized plates.While investigating the vehicle the officer observed the passenger to be a male he had arrested and charged earlier in the year. He was also aware that the male had a curfew of 9:00 p.m and was to obstain from the consumption of drugs. The male was arrested for breach of his conditions, but began to resist. Two officers had two wrestle with the male in order to take him into custody. Once in custody the officers investigated further and learned there was a warrant for his arrest for a missed court appearance. While searching the male, the officers located a large quantity of suspected crack cocaine and a quantity of cash on his person. As a result a 39 year old Bradford resident was charged with a total of 7 drug and Criminal Code offences. He was held for a bail hearing on March 4th. Impaired/Over 80 On Monday 5 March at approx. 12:50 am a South Simcoe Police Officer on general patrol observed a motor vehicle drive into a snowbank while northbound on Cty Rd 4 in Innisfil. The vehicle backed out of the snowbank and continued northbound, wandering across the centre line and then back onto the right shoulder of the road. The vehicle was stopped and the driver arrested for impaired driving. Test conducted revealed that the male had twice the legal limit of alcohol in his blood. A 30 year old Bradford male was subsequently charged and received a provincially mandated 90 day drivers licence suspension as well as a court date in April. Impaired Driving On Friday March 2, at approximately 2:45 a.m. an officer from the South Simcoe Police Service stopped a Chev pick up on St. John's Road in the Town of Innisfil. The officer spoke to the male driver and observed he was impaired from the consumption of alcohol. He was subsequently arrested for Impaired Driving and transported to the Barrie Police station where he provided two samples of his breath that were in excess of the legal limit. A 32 year old Innisfil male was charged with Impaired Driving and Over 80 mgs. He was also given a 90 day licence suspension. The male was held for a bail hearing as he was out on release for outstanding charges that were still before the courts. Family Domestic On Thursday March 1, at approximately 1:18 p.m. police responded to a 911 hang up call at a Bradford West Gwillimbury residence. Upon arrival, officers learned that a 21 year old male had been in a confrontation with his mother and sister. During the argument the male spat on his sister. As his mother attempted to call 911 he smashed the phone from the wall with his fist. When his sister left the residence he uttered a threat to her. As a result, the male was arrested and charged with Assault, Uttering Threats and Mischief. Further investigation revealed his was on a Conditional Sentence Order for a previous criminal conviction. |
