New OPP HQ heading to Alliston area

The new building for the Tecumseth OPP detachment will be located in the Alliston area.

Essa mayor Dave Guergis told council Wednesday night that the OPP has always wanted the new headquarters located in the Alliston area.

"I understand that the Alliston location was always the preferred site by the OPP but I understand that the press release neglected to mention the relocation," he said

Guergis said that he still favoured a location around County Road 10 and Highway 89 which would serve Alliston and Essa residents.
