Vandals brake timer over Winterfest weekend

      The Parks and Rec department installed a timer on the light for the outdoor rink at Innisfil Beach Park. Sometime over Saturday night, someone damaged the timer, breaking it open. "It looks like someone took a hockey stick to it," said Deputy Mayor Gord Wauchope.

Essa to increase ice rates by 10%

      Essa council has given its provisional approval to increasing the hourly rates to use the ice surfaces at the two township arenas. Council received a recommendation from its Parks and Recreation committee last week that recommended a 10% increase from the current $104 per hour to $115 per hour.
