Town to purchase new trucks for Planning and Waste Departments

The town will be purchasing two new trucks for the Planning and Water Departments.

In the 2007 Capital Budget, Council approved the purchase of a new pick up truck for the Municipal Law service department.

The low bid from Hanna Ford came in at $18,993. With applicable taxes and the lighting and accessories for the truck, less the GST rebate, the total cost of the truck is $21,912.44. Council budgeted $38,000 for the purchase.

In the 2006 Capital Budget, council allotted $35,100 for the purchase of a half-ton pick up truck for the Waterworks Department. The vehicle was needed for the additional staff member hired in the department. Blue Mountain Chrysler in Collingwood came in with the lowest bid in the amount of $23,448.66 including taxes. The total cost of the purchase, less the GST rebate and including accessories and equipment is $25,714.52.
