Residents should help decide by-law regulations

Dear editor,

I read with interest your article about a ban on parking some vehicles on driveways (ie: boats) . What concerns me is that the council would enact such a bylaw without the vote of the people of Innisfil. I feel that this is an issue needing the input of all the townspeople, not just because of the whims of the council or a few complaints from some individuals. Is this not a democracy? Yes I have a boat which I keep at the side of my house for the winter, and a snowmobile trailer which I also keep at the side of the house because there is not enough room on the driveway to back it up properly.

I, as many, have no choice, and after all, what's the difference between a car or a truck or a boat in the driveway.

I applaud councillor Lynn Dollin, for thinking of the people first.

Rene McCron Innisfil
