Local reporter should take preference

Dear editor,

I am still in total disbelief that the Innisfil police can be so judgmental as to turn away a reporter from the Innisfil Scope who is gathering a news article.

The other day at the house explosion at Big Bay Point, Michelle Minnoch, was told that she could not enter to take pictures of the fire for the Innisfil Scope, our local newspaper. She had identification; but, was still told "NO". Meanwhile, the A Channel News and the Barrie Examiner were allowed in to film the action. Was the fire not in Innisfil? Therefore, it would only make sense that the paper from Innisfil should take preference over Barrie. Obviously, the Innisfil policeman whose decision it was to turn her away doesn't care about integrity and fair play!!!

It is time to change the attitude of the police and bring Innisfil to the front of the line when reporting on Innisfil news.

Upset with the police, Mary Jane Brinkos
