Funeral held for Carol McPherson
Longtime Innisfil resident and publisher of the Innisfil Enterprise, Carol McPherson, passed away last Tuesday due to pneumonia. She was 52. A graduate of the Journalism Program at Humber College, McPherson worked as Editor of The Scope before introducing the community to the Innisfil Enterprise in 2004. She studied theology and this past Remembrance Day, preformed the ceremony at the Belle Ewart Legion. McPherson was also active in the political arena, working for the NDP caucus and campaigned for Howard Hampton when he was running for office. McPherson was actively involved in the community and was instrumental in the Belle Ewart Park restoration. Last year, McPherson was a Director of the Greater Innisfil Chamber of Commerce and was active in introducing the business luncheon series. Her son Craig, said he will continue to publish the Innisfil Enterprise. McPherson was diagnosed with cancer and had been battling the disease since last fall. She passed away peacefully due to pneumonia Tuesday afternoon. She is survived by her son Craig, and her sister Lois of Mississauga. |
