Doggie dilemma? Pet Country Estate launches Doggie Daycare
by Michelle Minnoch

Pet Country Estate is known for its exceptional boarding and training services, but starting Sunday, April 1st Doggie Daycare will be available to those who want to give their four legged friends extra stimulation and play time while they are at work, running errands, or not able to provide the sufficient time needed to nurture their dogs.

Open seven days a week, from 7am until 7 pm, Pet Country Estate owner Liz Gordon says Doggie Daycare will help meet the needs of so many families, who sometimes do not always have the time that is needed to spend with their pooch. She says the hours are a benefit to people who have to commute to and from their jobs, and their dogs will enjoy indoor and outdoor play time, with other dogs or a trainer.

The indoor Daycare has three areas; one for medium to large sized dogs, one for smaller dogs, and a rest area for when play time is over.

The Daycare has a variety of toys to play with, blankets to pull around, and things to climb on.

"They all love to play with the football," she said.

While not all dogs get along, Gordon said there is a registration form to be filed out, along with a temperament evaluation. If your dog does not get along with other dogs, Gordon said your animal will still get plenty of play time, but with a professional trainer, and not with other dogs. Dogs are evaluated and introduced into doggie play groups based on their size and temperament. Owners who sign up their pets for Doggie Daycare are welcome to watch their pets.

Mandatory basic requirements for the Daycare include; dogs must be in good health, free from fleas and ticks, current vaccinations with written proof, neutered/spayed if of age, and puppies must be 12 weeks or older.

Gordon says dogs are like children and need to be stimulated, and the Doggie Daycare experience will not only help dogs interact with others, but it will help build their character and confidence.

"It's all about improving the quality of life for your dog."

Pet Country Estate will be holding an open house on Sunday, April 1st between noon and 4pm where you can meet Liz and her staff and see the fun facilities for your furry friend.

Pet Country Estate is located on the 20th Side Road, between Lockhart and Mapleview Road.
