New resident unhappy with discussed by-law

Dear editor,

I'm a new home owner here in Alcona just over two years now and I was reading the paper volume 41, issue 12 page 4 and have to agree with D. Bokan of Lefroy that the by law about not parking your boats or sled trailers on you property is crazy. I use to live in Richmond Hill with the same boat in the driveway and in the winter in the backyard and the town wanted me to put it some where else, I could understand to a point living far from a lake but here I live so close in a lake side town and can't keep a boat. In Richmond Hill the bylaw was about a commercial vehicle in your driveway but my boat and lots of people's boats, RV's Sleds are toys that's all.Since I have lived up here they have passed some by laws that are nuts but that's what you get for living in a free country?? I also agree with M.C. Durigon from Churchill about taxes I now pay more then when I was living in Richmond Hill where there are buses proper roads that don't chip your teeth and all sorts of services I have asked the town so many times where do the taxes go and they gave me a report so I'll forward to you upon request.
