Investigation not completed in house explosion

On Tuesday, March 13th, 2007 at approx. 4:00 p.m. the South Simcoe Police Service & Innisfil Fire and Rescue responded to a house explosion on Big Bay Point Road in the Town of Innisfil. The house was fully engulfed after the explosion and sustained extensive damage.

The Ontario Fire Marshall and Innisfil Fire Department, with the assistance of the South Simcoe Police Service are continuing their investigation to try and determine the cause of the explosion.

The Ontario Fire Marshall will further examine the evidence they gathered at the scene. The Ontario Fire Marshall has NOT concluded its investigation and therefore there is currently no determination as to the exact cause of the explosion.
