Be a face in the fight against cancer The Innisfil Branch of the Canadian Cancer Society needs volunteers. Their involvement enables the Canadian Cancer Society to fund cancer research, provide information, services and to support people living with cancer. Call: 436- 1060 or 726-8032. The Canadian Mental Health Association of Barrie-Simcoe supports the development and continuance of self-help groups as a viable community resource for individuals experiencing difficulties. Self-Help groups can provide; support and understanding through difficult times; an opportunity to meet with others who have experienced similar difficulties; information and education; a safe and comfortable environment; suggestions regarding coping strategies that help to get through difficult times. MONDAYS Friends of the Innisfil Library, Stroud Branch, meetings are held the third Monday of every month at 7 p.m.

St Paul's Anglican Church, located on the corner of Mapleview and Yonge Street, has two new youth and young adult programs. From 6:30 - 8:00 pm will be informal musical jamming sessions for anyone with a voice or instrument. The Beta Classes will be held at the Innisfil Community Church starting January 9th at 1pm. Beta is a life changing program and the twelve week course will enable you to live free from fear, stress aniexty and the pain of past hurts and traumas. SUNDAY, APRIL 15TH The Sandycove Tap and Jazz Dancers are sponsoring a special craft show and tea room from 10am until 3pm at The Wheel. Admission and parking is free and there will be craft tables by over 30 residents and there will be draw prizes. Sandycove Tap and Jazz Dancers are a non profit grouyp of women who perform at Sandycove Acres, retirement homes, hospitals, church and other non profit organizations. The money raised will upgrade and add to their costumes.

The gospel quartet Reunion will be performing a Dessert Concert at Innisfil Community Church starting at 6pm. The Dessert is free, but reservations are required. To reserve a seat, call (705) 436-1611. SATURDAY, APRIL 21ST Delicious Ambiguity III, a night of music for Gilda's Club, will be held at Georgian College. The third annual event will fedature blues, rock, and folk music. Doors open at 7:30pm. Tickets are $10 and are available at the Gilda's Club office, 93 Bellfarm Road, Suite 120, Barrie. St. Paul's Anglican Church will be hosting Music for Missions night. The night will feature performances by local musicians and information about the significant impact of mission trips. SUNDAY, APRIL 22ND A Fashion Show and Tea will be held by the Friends of the Library at the Lakeshore Branch at 2pm. The Theme is Give my Regards to Broadway. Clothing will be provided by the mrchants from the Cookstown Outlet Mall. There are door prizes and refreshments will be served. The cost is $10 per ticket and you can pick them up at any branch. THURSDAY, APRIL 26TH St. Peter's Anglican Church will be having their annual Ham and Scallop Potato Supper from 5-7pm. Tickets are $10. There will be ham, salads, corn bread, tea, coffee and dessert. Communities in Bloom Gala Show and fundraiser will be held at 7pm. Tickets are $10 and can be bought at the door. There will be garden displays, demonstrations, live and silent auctions, celebrity gardening challenge and door prizes. This fundraiser is in support of community projects and the Innisfil Rec Centre. SATURDAY, APRIL 28TH David Wilcox will be performing at Stroud Arena - a fundraiser for the new Rec Centre, in conjunction with ICE Corp.. Tickets will be going on sale in March. It will start at 9am, shotgun start, a four person scramble. The cost is $80 and includes golf, dinner, prize table, raffles and more. Hole contributions are welcome at a cost of $50 per hole, and prize donations to the raffle table will also be accepted.
