Century club continues to grow

The list of public servants earning in excess of $100,000 per year continues to expand.

In Innisfil, CAO Lawrence Allison topped the list at $140,703 followed by director of corporate services Susan Downs at $109,351 and Robert Mc- Auley, director of planning and development, at $108,529.

South Simcoe Police saw police chief Bruce Davis on top at $139,440 followed by deputy chief Allan Cheesman at $124,292, Deborah Carmichael in corporate services at $110,311, and police inspectors Kerry Emms and Tom McDonald and at $116,002 each.

There are no figures for the OPP.

In Bradford West Gwillimbury, CAO James Currier came in at $148,689 followed by director of administration Juanita Demster-Evans at $139,932, fire chief Robert Miles and director of finance Susan Turnbull at $104,984, and town engineer Gord Miokovic at $103,806.

At Royal Victoria in Barrie, President Janice Skot leads 14 staffers at $275,000.

Ed Takacs, president of Stevenson Memorial Hospital, led the list with $164,912, with VP Susan Plewes making $103,402 and CFO Stephen Miller at $103,800.

They pale in comparison with other larger hospitals. CEO Daniel Carriere leads a long list of century club members at Southlake Regional Health Centre at $397,500.

The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit has five staff in the club led by Medical Officer of Health Dr. Charles Gardner.

The County of Simcoe has a rapidly growing list in the $100,000 plus club led by CAO Mark Aitken at $175,601.

The school boards also have many in the $100k club especially the Simcoe Muskoka Catholic School Board with 54 staffers led by director Michael O'Kefe at $166,909.

Their larger cousin, the public school board, had 31 in the club with director Keith Campbell at $175,844.

The numbers drop dramatically throughout the municipality. In New Tecumseth, CAO Terri Caron tops a list of only four at $135,109 with $14,608 in taxable benefit (vehicle). Deputy CAO Brendan Holly comes in at $118,931 with $6,654 in benefits. CFO Paul Whiteside earned $104,796 and former clerk Pat Middlebrook came in at $129,928 partly because of a special retirement benefit.
