South Simcoe Police Residential Fire On Thursday 29 March, at approx. 1:09 pm, Innisfil Fire and Rescue and the South Simcoe Police were called to a fire at a home in Innisfil. The home was engulfed when the Fire Dept arrived on scene. There were no residents at home at the time of the fire and no injuries resulted. The Ontario Fire Marshall's Office will be investigating along with the South Simcoe Police. Traffic Enforcement A 35 year old male from Tottenham stopped on the 5th line of BWG for 130kmh in a posted 60km-h zone (occ# 07-4253) (fine upon conviction $682.50 +$125.00 victim surcharge) A 30 year old male from Barrie stopped on Highway 400 BWG for 185km-h in a 100km-h zone (occ# 07- 4252)(fine upon conviction $828.75 + $125.00 victim surcharge) A 51 year old male from Gilford stopped on the 12th line of BWG for 110km-h in a 60km-h zone (occ# 07- 4243) (fine upon conviction $487.50 +$95.00 victim surcharge) A 18 year old male from Belle Ewart stopped on the 12th line of BWG for 116km-h in a 60km-h zone (occ # 07-4242) (fine upon conviction $ 546.00 +$125.00 victim surcharge) Trafficking CDSA A 45 year old Innisfil woman and a 41 year old Innisfil man are being held for a Bail Hearing this morning on a total of 16 drug related charges. Members of the Huronia Combined Forces Drug Unit and uniform members of South Simcoe Police stopped a motor vehicle and during the stop located in plain view crack cocaine and a crack pipe. A further search of the vehicle resulted in cocaine, Valium, prescription narcotics and drug paraphernalia being seized. Impaired Driving A 30 year old Sutton man was travelling north on Cnty Rd 4 and was clocked on radar at 108 km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone. The vehicle was then seen to be passing other vehicles and at one point forced a south bound vehicle off the road. The vehicle sped up as it entered the village of Churchill and was then clocked at 174 km/h in a posted 60 km/h zone. The vehicle was stopped and the driver found to be exhibiting signs of impairment. He was arrested and charged with Impaired Driving, Excess Alcohol and Dangerous Driving. He was released with a court date in May. Theft from Motor Vehicle South Simcoe Police are investigating a theft from a motor vehicle in Innisfil which occurred sometime overnight between the 29th and 30th of March. Stolen from the vehicle was some loose change, CD's and prescription medication. The medication was Oxycocet and Tramadol. The Tramadol is in a blister pack and is in a gum form. This drug is very dangerous if the person is to chew it like gum and could be fatal. Mischief - Alcona area - Town of Innisfil South Simcoe Police are investigating several mischief occurrences involving rural mailboxes being set on fire in the Leonard Street & Crystal Beach Road area of Innisfil during the early morning hours of Sunday April 1, 2007. Anyone having information on these incidents is asked to South Simcoe Police or Crimestoppers. |
