Motion brought forward regarding grow-ops, meth labs in Town
by Michelle Minnoch

Councillor Bill Pring brought a motion to council table regarding residences that house grow-ops and enphedimines labs to council for the second time Wednesday evening.

Council is requesting the Director of Planning and Development, through the Building Code Act, and the Director of Community Services, investigate how the Town of Innisfil can make home owners/tenants refurbish or demolish their homes if their homes are used for illegal purposes, under Provincial Legislation.

"These houses seem to pop up all over," said Councillor Pring. He said Niagara is going through the process, and he will be attending a presentation in New Tecumseth about the issue, to find out more information.

"I support this motion," said Councillor Rod Boynton. "This could be a great deterrent."

Councillor Pring said he would like to get further information and support from the police department.
