Parking by-law still causing stir

Dear editor:

I am so glad to hear that there are so many others in Innisfil that feel the same way as my husband and I about the new bylaw the town wants to impose regarding RV's, boats and school buses park on our property. I am incredulous that someone would even think of passing such a bylaw in our community. If it is plated and legal for the road why is this such a problem? If it is legal for the road/lake why not our driveways? We have all spent the money to have them so.

I understand about the development of new subdivisions being built with lots far too small to park such items on their property. If it is not blocking the side walk or throughfare traffic then why should it be a issue? As for some of us who do have the property to park such items in our driveway I think it is ridiculous to impose such a bylaw.

In this tourist community, many of us, our relatives and our friends are here to enjoy the amenities of this community and, to enjoy the amenities, we pay a fare bit to have the right to have such vehicles on our property. This bylaw is just another way to take yet more of that freedom away. We are fed up of our freedom and rights being taken away! I think that it would be beneficial for all to fight this bylaw.

I for one would like to know who's idea it was to even bring it up! If you know please let me know. I want to make sure that I do not vote for them in the next election if they are running.

Please make it well known when the meeting date is so we can all attend. I, and all I can gather, will be there to voice our dismay!

I, and my husband, think that the counsel is treading on thin ice with this bylaw.

Sometimes too much change at one time is not valued by the community.

Sincerely, C. Walker
