Come Camp with Us - Stay one night for free at KOA

KOA Campgrounds is again hosting 'Come Camp with Us Weekend, on the weekend of May 11th and 12th.

Come Camp with Us Weekend is an annual fundraiser for the KOA, in which campers are asked to come for the weekend, only paying for their stay on Friday evening - Saturday night is a free stay.

The money raised over the weekend will go towards KOA Care Camps, camps for children who have cancer.

"All money donated will go to the Cancer Care Camps," said Jeff Stovold. He and his wife Cathy own the KOA campground in Cookstown, which won Franchisee of the Year last year, for all KOA's in North America.

This year, KOA has partnered up with Sunset Speedway, and there will be racing cars on-hand for the kids to check out.

That night, some of the proceeds made at Sunset Speedway, its opening night, will be donated towards the KOA fundraiser.

Sunset Speedway has also donated tickets, which the kids can win.

KOA will have various activities for the families on the Come Camp with Us weekend.

With over 100 sites for cabins, RV's and tents, Stovold is hoping the campground will sell out for this worthy cause.

"Over the past few years, we have been able to donate over $200,000 to the cause," he said.
