Cookstown notes...

Birth

Congratulations to Kevin and Amanda Williams, on the birth of their second child on April 10th, at Pickering Hospital. Laura Marie, weighing in at 8lb. 30 oz., was welcomed with joy by big brother Owen, who will be 3 years old in July and by grandparents Rose and Allan Kell of Cookstown.

Cookstown United Church Youth Group

A special thanks on behalf of the members, leaders Debbie Welleff, Fred and Fay Elines, to residents of Cookstown, who helped the Youth Group collect food for the local Food Bank on Friday, April 29th. The boys and girls went door to door collecting, leaving their donation bags if people were not at home.

The Group will come around on April 27th to pick up any more donations, or come to church to bring it there. The Youth Group, ranging from 7 - 14 years of age, meet every Friday at the church hall from 7 - 8.30 pm. They have fun with games, watch movies, do crafts and make new friends.

Library

Medieval Country Faire. Visit the library's Medieval Country Faire and help celebrate May Day. Try your hand at juggling, other games of skill, maypole dancing and medieval feast. Date: May 9, 4.30 - 5:30 pm. Cost: $3.00. age 6-12.

Movie "Happily N'ever After on Sat. May 5th at 1:00 p.m.
