South Simcoe Police Break, Enter & Theft Between April 14th to April 17th South Simcoe Police investigated two (2) break-ins to the same Bradford area elementary school. On both occasions computer equipment was taken from different school portables. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call South Simcoe Police at (705) 436-2141 / (905) 775 3311, or Crimestoppers at 1- 800-222-TIPS, or leave an anonymous tip at www.1800222tips.com Carry Concealed Weapon A South Simcoe Police officer travelling on Simcoe Street in Bradford observed an apparently intoxicated male walking on the roadway at approximately 2:30 pm Wednesday April 18th, 2007. As the police officer went to apprehend the male he noticed the male fumbling in his jacket pockets. The male was apprehended with the assistance of other officers and found to have a 3 inch knife with the blade locked open. Male was arrested for Public Intoxication and Carry Concealed Weapon. The 43 year old Bradford male was found to be out on Probation and a Conditional Sentence Order for a Cocaine Trafficking conviction in September 2006. The accused was charged with Carry Concealed Weapon and Breaching his Probation and Conditional Sentence for consuming alcohol. Theft Over $5000 South Simcoe Police are investigating the theft of Lincoln towable diesel powered welder from and Innisfil Construction site sometime since Monday April 16th, 2007. The welder is valued at approximately $14,000. Anyone having information on this theft is asked to call South Simcoe Police at (705) 436-2141 or Crimestoppers. Impaired Driving On Thursday April 19, 2007 at approximately 10:34 p.m. police stopped a motor vehicle for erratic driving southbound on County Road 4 in the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury. The officer spoke to the driver, determined he was impaired, and arrested him for Impaired Driving. He was transported to the police station where he provided two breath samples that were almost 2.5 times the legal blood/alcohol limit. As a result, a 59 year old Innisfil male was charged with Impaired Operation and Over 80 mgs. In addition, he was given an automatic 90 day licence suspension and had his vehicle towed. He will appear in court in May to answer to the charges. Motor Vehicle Accident On Thursday April 19, 2007 at approximately 7:09 p.m. police were called to a motor vehicle collision on Simcoe Road in the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury. Upon arrival, officers found that a 2006 Ford had left the roadway and struck several brick light posts in a residential driveway after being cut off by a 2003 Hyundai. The driver of the Ford was taken to South Lake Regional Health Centre in Newmarket for medial treatment. An officer also attended the hospital to check on the well being of the driver. While speaking with him, the officer detected an odour of alcohol on his breath. The driver provided two samples of his breath into a portable breath machine that were under the legal limit, but in the range of a 12 hour suspension. A 12 hour licence suspension was subsequently issued, and the driver, a 19 year old Bradford male, was charged under the Highway Traffic Act with being a novice driver with an above zero blood/alcohol level. Impaired & Over 80 mgs A 26-year old Barrie man is facing charges of Impaired Driving, Driving While Over 80mgs and Possession of a Controlled Substance after a South Simcoe Police officer investigated a suspicious vehicle, which was parked at the Bradford Arena on April 21st at approximately 2:30am. When the officer spoke to the driver, he displayed signs of impairment and was arrested accordingly. A search of the car revealed a quantity of marijuana hidden inside. The man was taken to the South Division for a Breathalyzer test that he failed. His drivers licence was suspended for 90-days and his car impounded. He will be appearing in Bradford Provincial Court on May 24th, 2007. Domestic Assault On Friday April 20, police arrested and charged a 29 year old Bradford male with Assault after a female complained that she was assaulted by her common law spouse on April 16, 2007. Investigation revealed that on the date in question the male and female were arguing about a phone conversation the male just had with the female's ex boyfriend. During the course of their argument, the male grabbed the female several times by the arm and spun her around or tried to pull her towards him. Theft of Snowmobile South Simcoe Police are investigating the theft of a snowmobile from a residence on Grove Place in the Town of Innisfil. The snowmobile was discovered missing this date, although it was taken sometime between January 15, 2007 and February 2007. The snowmobile is described as a 1991 Skidoo Purple/Black in colour with MACH 1 670 on the hood. |
