RE: Tender awarded for Carson Drain maintenance April 25th edition

Dear Editor,

I would like to publicly thank Councillor Lynne Dollin of Ward 7 Cookstown for looking out for all the folks in Ward 2 (Lefroy) who will be affected by the impending maintenance on the Carson Drain. I am one of the 410 landowners who will have to pay for this maintenance and we have not been able to get any answers from our Ward 2 Councillor.

Regarding Steven Paron's letter to the editor (April 25th) questioning where the money from Georgian Downs goes . . . the Scope indicates that the $1 million dollars collected in the first three months goes to infrastructure. Would drainage maintenance not fall under infrastructure? Apparently the Town of Innisfil is unable to cover the $14,914.52 cost of maintenance from the taxes collected from the 410 landowners along with the over $4 million collected annually from Georgian Downs. Something is drastically wrong with this!

Larry Hurd, Lefroy
