South Simcoe Police Assault, Assault Cause Bodily Harm, Utter Threats, Mischief Under $5000 - Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking On April 23, 2007 South Simcoe Police received information regarding drugs being observed a day earlier at a residence on Garden Ave in Town of Innisfil, and that the husband and wife had been arguing. From the information received by police, there were safety concerns for the wife due to previous domestic disputes with the couple. Upon being allowed into the residence, police located a quantity of marihuana packaged in a manner consistent with trafficking of the product. Through investigation it was further determined that the wife had been assaulted on different dates through 2006 and 2007. A warrant was obtained for the arrest of the husband who had left the residence. On April 24, 2007 the accused was located and arrested. Police have charged a 29 year old Innisfil male with Assault Cause Bodily Harm, Assault, Utter Threats, Mischief Under $5000, and Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (marihuana). The accused is being held in custody pending a bail hearing on April 25. Impaired Driving/Over 80mgs South Simcoe Police have charged a 45 year old Innisfil male with Impaired Driving and Over 80mgs after police received information on April 24, 2007 at approximately 10:40p.m. regarding a vehicle being driven erratically along Innisfil Beach Road in the Town of Innisfil. The vehicle was observed leaving a parking lot and it was stopped by police. The driver who was eating a chicken wing at the time was requested to provide a roadside breath sample. The driver was subsequently arrested after failing the roadside test and he was transported to the police station where he provided samples of his breath into the intoxilyzer machine. Theft of Motor Vehicle South Simcoe Police are investigating the theft of a motor vehicle that was parked at a residence on Maple Way in the Town of Innisfil. The vehicle was taken sometime between 7:30a.m. and 4:00p.m. on April 24, 2007. The vehicle bears Ontario Licence 451 0MZ, described as a 1995 GMC Sierra pick up truck, blue with grey. Industrial Accident Fatality - Bradford On Monday April 23rd at approximately 5:45 AM, South Simcoe Police, Bradford Fire Department and Ambulance responded to a Bradford area business where a 49 year-old male worker had been injured overnight. Employees arriving for work found the injured worker lying on the ground. The injured worker was transported to South Lake Regional Health Centre in Newmarket and later transported to the Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre in Toronto. The injured worker succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday April 24th, 2007. A joint investigation was conducted by the South Simcoe Police and the Ontario Ministry of Labour. The deceased male accidentally slipped while working alone and fell to ground where he was found several hours later by his coworkers. Breach of Undertaking A 23 year old Bradford man was arrested and charged with Breach of Undertaking. On April 19, 2007 he had been arrested and charged with assault and was released from custody with conditions. When he breached some of those conditions he was subsequently held for bail. Public Intox In the early morning hours in downtown Bradford 4 men were arrested and charged with being intoxicated in a public place stemming from three separate incidences. They were held in custody until sober. Public Intox South Simcoe Police arrested a 36 year old Innisfil man for public intox. He was held until sober Public Intox A 31 year old Oshawa man was arrested in Stroud on Saturday evening for Public Intox. He had just left the Stroud arena and was looking for a ride home. The male got into the rear of a marked police vehicle and refused to get out. He was arrested and transported to the station until sober. Impaired Driving A 23 year old Innisfil male was stopped in a RIDE spot check in Stroud. He was subsequently arrested and transported to the station. He blew more than 2.5 times the legal limit. He was charged with Drive Over 80 mgs and 2 counts of Breach of Probation. He was held for a bail hearing. Public Intox A 22 year old Innisfil male was arrested and charged with public Intox. He was held at the station until Sober. Impaired Driving, Over 80 mgs A 47 year old Newmarket male driver was stopped in Bradford. He was arrested for impaired driving and transported to the station where he blew twice the legal limit. He was charged with Impaired driving, Drive over 80mgs. He ws released with a court date in May. |
