Remembering a friend
by Susan Stein

Sincere condolences go out to the family of Margaret Elizabeth Prince, who passed away at her home in Cookstown in her 69th year.

She will be missed by her beloved husband John Prince, daughter Linda and her husband Wayne Fildey, sons John Jr. and David. She leaves behind her brother Jim and his wife Sharon Tinkler, sister Carol and her husband Tony Calis.

The complete funeral service was held at Cookstown United Church on Wednesday, May 2nd, with Rev. Heather Power officiating. Granddaughter Ashley remembered her nan as a fun loving person, going on wild rides at Canada's Wonderland and always having goodies to share.

Attending the funeral, memories of Wayne Fildey's late parents Wifred and Carrie Fildey came to my mind. The Fildeys were fellow dairy farmers, just north of Cookstown and whenever I stopped at their home, there was always Carrie Fildey making cookies, ready for her 10 children as an after school snack.
