Proposed by-law not impressing resident

Dear editor,

I've heard of some pretty stupid things before but this is the worst!!!!! I have lived in Alcona for years and bought a house with a big yard so my kids could play without having to travel to a park so they are not playing in the street. We also bought so that we could have a driveway that would fit bother our cars so we don't have to pay to park at home and so we don't have to pay to park the motorhome all year round when we only use it in the summer. We OWN our property and pay taxes that go up every year I might add and now you want to tell me that I can't park in my own driveway. THINK AGAIN. Making improvements like paved roads, water & sewer access etc. is one thing but this is NOT going to make anything better except maybe someones wallet on the town council. You have NO RIGHT to prevent me from parking MY VEHICLE that I own on the PROPERTY I own.

This is not some hunk of rust that is taking up space like I see in SOME driveways around here, but they will still be allowed to keep their JUNK in THEIR yard but no, not me. This proposed by law of no motor homes or boats on your own property is the last straw. Next your going to tell me what color to paint my house. I didn't buy a condo because I wasn't going to pay a fortune for an apartment with stupid rules like that. I thought that was what renting was, having to ask permission to hang a picture. Lets be realistic!!!!!!

I moved from Toronto to get away from this sort of thing.

Thank You, Gwen Warren
