Youth involved in fatal Angus house fire

Early Sunday morning, a citizen called 911 to advise of a house fire on Centre St, in Angus.

The Essa Township Fire Department attended and found a vacant house fully engulfed in flames. Ambulance and Police were called to assist.

The Fire Department requested the Fire Marshal to attend to investigate the cause of the fire. As a result of their investigation it was learned that a person had died in the house. Further investigation revealed that three youths were involved.

The other two youths were originally transported to Royal Victoria Hospital but then airlifted to an Ottawa hospital.

The names of the youths involved are not being released at this time, pending notification of next of kin of the deceased youth.

Nottawasaga O.P.P. is remaining on scene for security purposes until the Fire Marshal's Office completes their investigation.
