Innisfil Central Public School making history!

In April, Innisfil Central Public School held a History Fair. The gym was filled with an incredible variety of Canadian history projects. Students from Grades 4-8 were chosen to go on to the Regional Historica Fair on April 25 at the Simcoe County Museum.

The day was filled with Canadian heritage activities and the students were able to share their projects and what they learned with other students from across the county. To end this special event, awards were presented to many of the participants with outstanding projects. Three students from Innisfil Central were among the winners:

Kendra Todd received the Honourable Lapierre Award for her project on the Juno Awards.

Sara Karn, Provincial Fair delegate for her project on Point Pelee National Park - The Southern Tip of Canada. Sara will be attending the Provincial Fair in Ottawa from May 16-20, touring our nation's capital.

Carter Cairns, National Fair delegate for his project on Sir Isaac Brock. Carter will be off to Lethbridge, Alberta for one week in July to showcase his project in the National Fair and meet other students from across Canada! We are extremely proud of the success of each of these students!

Mrs. Sharon Adams, Teacher-Librarian at Innisfil Central deserves a huge THANK-YOU for all her work in organizing the History Fair for the students. Through her extra work and dedication, she has taught them about the importance of our Canadian history and has given these students a wonderful learning opportunity.
