WEDNESDAY, MAY 16TH
Bid euchre will be played at the
Gwen Taylor Community Library
starting at 7:30 pm. The cost is $3
per   person,   and   lunch   will   be
served.
THURSDAY, MAY 17TH
The Alzheimer Society of Greater
Simcoe County will be meeting at
The   Spoke   at   sandycove Acres
between 1 and 3pm. Caring for
someone with alzheimer's disease
or a related dementia can be a challenging
        yet rewarding journey. The
Society holds a monthly Caregiver
Support Group meeting where caregivers
        can discuss issues and successes
        in a confidential and supportive
    environment. For further information,

The   Prostate   Cancer   Support
Group, Man to Man, will meet at
7:30pm at the Canadian Cancer
Society Office at 64 Cedar Point
Drive, Unit 1406 in Barrie. The
group meets on the third Thursday
of every month. Ladies are welcome
and will meet separately.

MAY 20TH
The Sandycove Drama Club will
be performing "Remember Me" at
The   Wheel.   The   Thursday   and
Friday performance will start at
7:30pm, the Sunday show will start
at 2pm. Tickets are $5 and to

SATURDAY, MAY 19TH
The Innisfil Historical Society will
be hosting 'Remember When' at
their   meeting   at   The   Knock
Schoolhouse at 2pm. Bring a piece
of nostalgia and tell us your memory
of that item. Dedication of Past Presidents' plaque will also take

A Garage and Plant Sale will be
held, the proceeds of which will be
going   towards   Prostate   Cancer
Research. The sale will run from
9am until 3pm. For sale will be
interesting and useful items - no
junk. A great selection of perennials
at a low price.
The sale will be held at 1984
Webster Blvd.
The South Simcoe Police Auction
will be held at the B&B Auction
Centre starting at 10am. The centre
is located at 5131 Yonge Street, 1.5
KM south of Hwy. 89. This is a
yearly event, and items include 70
bikes, power tools, jewelry, musical
instruments, and much more.
FRIDAY, MAY 18TH & SATURDAY,
      MAY 19TH
A vacant lot yard sale will be held
at the lot on Barrie St. (Hwy 27) in
Thornton. The proceeds will go
towards   the   expansion   of   the
Thornton Library. To make a donation

SATURDAY, MAY 26TH
Alcona's Largest Garage Sale will
be held at the Crossroads Plaza
parking lot in Alcona. The fee is $25
for each parking space and the proceeds
      for the space will go to the
new Rec Centre. Empty out those
closets   and   make   some   cash!

The South Innisfil Aboretum is
having their annual Fund Raiser -
Giant Arboretum Vendor, Plant,
Yard and BBQ from 8am until 1pm.
The   Painswick   Horticultural
Society will be holding their Plant
and   Bake   Sale   at   the   Stroud
Foodland Plaza starting at 9am. For

SUNDAY, MAY 27TH
St. Peter's Anglican Church choir
is having a evening of song at 7pm.
There will be many different selections
and types of music. Every one
is   welcome   to   come   and   join.

The Irish Claddaugh Club will be
heading out on a bus trip to Niagara
on the Lake, and 15 seats are still
available. The cost is $30 per person,
    and the bus picks up at Innisfil
Beach Road and continues on to
Niagara on the Lake. If anyone
wants to do a wine tour, they can as
the bus will drop them off and pick
them up. Dinner will be at a golf
club at 5pm (extra) and then you are

SUNDAY, JUNE 3RD
Gilford and District Lions Club is
hosting the Purina Walk for Dog
Guides, a fundraising event set to
raise   money   for   the   Lions
Foundation   of   Canadian   Dog
Guides. The event starts at 1:30pm
at the Gilford Community Hall. All
ages and fitness levels are welcome
to attend, with or without a dog. For

A Sping Concert by the Sandy
Cove Singers will be held at The
Wheel Community Centre at 2pm.
Come and enjoy a wide variety of
choral medley, including a Tribute

A Women's   Day   workshop   is
being held at the Gilford Hall from
noon until 4pm. Come out and join
the women of our community who
are involved in a "whole" body
approach to physical, emotional and
spiritual well being. This day os
dedicated to women, with presentations
      and displays to introduce you
to the many approaches available to
improve your health and inner happiness.

TUESDAY, JUNE 5TH
The Alzheimer Society of Greater

Simcoe   County   will   be   at   the
Lakeshore Library from 7 - 8:30pm.
"Remember This" is a free public
information session hosted by the
Society,   about   the   difference
between normal memory loss and
memory   loss   associated   with
Alzheimer's   Disease.   For   more

SATURDAY, JUNE 9TH
Killarney Beach P.S. is hosting a
Roast Beef Dinner and Silent
Auction at Lefroy Arena. Tickets
are $40 each or $75/couple - adults
only. Limited tickets are for sale, so

raising funds for a new walking
path.
TUESDAY, JUNE 12TH
The   York   Simcoe   Naturalists
Group will hold a general meeting
at 7:30pm. The meeting will take
place   in   the   River   Drive   Park
Community Centre, 20 Oak Avenue
in the River Drive Park (off the
Queensville   Sideroad,   north   of
Holland Landing). Refreshments

The Grenful United Church will
be hosting a Roast Beef Dinner with
all the trimmings and home made
pies. There will be one sitting at

SUNDAY, JUNE 17TH
A Cemetary Service will be held at
10am at St. Paul's Anglican Church,
Coulson's Hill. The ceremoney will
be followed by refreshments.
THURSDAY, JUNE 21ST
St. Peter's Anglican Church will
be having a Starwberry Supper
from 5-7pm. Don't miss out on
those delicious berries. Tickets are
