Community should not look like a trailer park
Dear editor,

Attn: Clerk's office

Some of you folks that have been living here and my comments are directed mostly for the Gilford area, you think that the time factor of residency has no bearing on the pleasure and pride of ownership to your fellow neighbors.

I'm talking about the people who want to beautify their investment. Perhaps with the way government pensions and all the other hoops we hurdle, might have somewhat of a security for our older age.

It's a turn off and disgrace to have our community looking like the trailer park boys (trash) that it is becoming. There seems to be a lack of respect and consideration when it comes to what people choose to park and how dumpy they can live. I have had visitors who shun when viewing a 35' mobile home parked beside my home.

Not to mention you can drive a one or two block radius and view campers parked in driveways with awnings rolled out. Couple years ago there was actually a family living in one for summer season.

Regarding our rights (as one reader wrote, he felt rights were being taken away) properties with 20-35' mobile homes, not only depreciates my investment, along with claustrophobic outdoor feeling, because of some inconsiderate neighbors looking after their own better interest.

I along with others have lost the lake view, not to mention the safety of not being able to see oncoming traffic until I slowly peek out of my driveway. Winters are a season to worry, high mounds of snow again creates a safety hazard and restricts visibility even more.

Not to mention the ATV bylaw allowing them to ride on side of road. Snowmobiles or ATV's do not pay attention to side of road they are driving and I have in 3 incidences came close to accidents. I believe this alone to be a huge safety matter, when one cannot view traffic from their driveway while exiting and someone gets hurt. What about my rights?

What about the idle time for these large vehicles prior to movement, not to mention the gas fumes our cars receive on the interior. What about my rights?

I need to ask council making decisions for this upcoming by-law. Would you want a bus or mobile home to view each morning from your residence?

Reviewing online by-laws for front lot fencing, I've read that no higher than 3 feet. I have a 35'x15' high wall. How does this fit into the fence front line by-law?

To those with the lengthily vehicles, don't be so cheap by storing your belongings and respect those who try to beautify their little treasures.

To the Simcoe County school bus operators association, mentioning in The Innisfil Enterprise article May 4 that it would be too expensive and inconvenient to drive to a central location to pick up the bus? I to found it expensive and inconvenient to drive to my work daily to Toronto, but fortunately was blessed to have the health and work. Everyone does their part to commute daily to positions of choice.

Why do you deserve better liberties, its my understanding since 35 years of working, people do commute to work.

Buses should have a central location and drivers need to commute to work, simple.

Let's welcome visitors and new residents with honor of ownership to community of Innisfil.
