Possession of a Prohibited Weapon, Careless Storage of a Firearm, Possession of a Controlled Substance (Crack Cocaine), Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking

On May 10, at approximately 8:40p.m. South Simcoe Police received information regarding an unplated vehicle driving along Innisfil Beach Rd in the Town of Innisfil and that there was a large quantity of illegal drugs within the vehicle.

Police located the vehicle in the area of Innisfil Beach Rd and Willard Ave and upon investigating the driver and a passenger, police located a large quantity of crack cocaine and a loaded handgun.

The driver and passenger were arrested without incident. Police have charged a 19 year old Orangeville male and a 63 year old Innisfil male with Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking a Controlled Substance, Possession of a Prohibited Weapon, Careless Storage of a Firearm, and numerous other weapons related charges.

The 19 year old male is also charged with two counts of Failing to Comply with a Judicial Release Order. Both males have been held in custody pending a bail hearing on May 11, 2007.

Fail to Comply with Undertaking

South Simcoe Police have charged a 36 year old Bobcaygeon male with Failing to Comply with an Undertaking after police observed the male walking with a female on Bingham St in the Town of Bradford.

The male is presently before the courts on charges of assault and sexual assault and he was released from custody in November 2006 with conditions preventing the male from communicating or being with the female.

The male has been held in custody pending a bail hearing on May 11, 2007.

Suspicious Circumstances

South Simcoe Police are investigating a suspicious person incident that occurred around 8:05a.m. on May 10, in the area of Jans Blvd and Hill St in the Town of Innisfil.

Over the past several weeks neighbours have observed the same male approaching children, and he has asks the children to come home with him. It is believed that the male lives in the area.

The male is described as Male White, Mid 40's, approximately 6', skinny build, scruffy beard.

In the most recent incident the male was wearing an olive green spring jacket, white pants, a white baseball hat, and he may be riding a purple bicycle.

Anyone with information about the identity of the male is asked to call South Simcoe Police at 705-436- 2141.

Suspicious Male in area of Jans Boulevard and Hill Street, Alcona, Town of Innisfil

Thanks to tips from the public South Simcoe Police have identified the male who had been approaching children. To date no criminal offence has occurred.

The 48 year old area male was cautioned regarding his activities.

The public are reminded to ensure their children are aware of all the safety precautions they have been taught and never to go with strangers.

Possession of Controlled Substance / Breach Probation

South Simcoe Police arrested a 19 year old male for Possession of a Controlled Substance (marijuana) and Breach Probation after a vehicle was investigated in Innisfil Beach Park.

Male was the driver of the vehicle and observed by police to be smoking marijuana. Investigation of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of a small quantity of marijuana. The male was found to be on a Probation Order issued in September 2006.

His involvement with illegal drugs breached that Probation Order. Male was released following the investigation by police.
