Welcome to the community
Michael Caines was born and raised in New Brunswick and has lived there most of his life. After high school, he earned an engineering degree from the University of New Brunswick. Toward the end of that degree, Mike realized that he wanted to serve the Lord in a full time ministry capacity. After graduation his wife, Anna, and he served as youth ministers in the Diocese of Fredericton. During their time in NB, they felt called to serve the Lord in cross-cultural missions for a year and then pursue ordained ministry. Anna and Mike taught at an Anglican Secondary School in Uganda for one year. Anna taught biology, music, and computer science; Mike taught physics, computer science, and guitar. Mike was also able to work with some of the senior students to build retaining walls around the school campus. Mike and Anna have enjoyed their time in Toronto. Anna has been working at the Ontario Science Center for the past year and a half while Mike studied for his Master of Divinity degree at Wycliffe College. Both are very excited to be a part of the Anglican Parish of Churchill and Cookstown for the summer and are looking forward to meeting everyone. Help us welcome them to our Parish.
