Might have to move to keep toys

Dear editor,

OK everyone has an opinion on the by-law regarding the parking of vehicles on peoples property. Here is mine.

When I moved here 20 years ago with my husband we did not have a boat, trailer, snowmobile, or a four wheeler. Now we do! We worked very hard for these Toys so that not only we could enjoy these things but so could our friends that visit us from the city could as well. We are raising children that also enjoy and appreciate these things. I to have neighbours that have 40 foot trailers in their driveways because they use them on weekends to take their children to other places, NO it does not bother me to see this because I know how hard they work for them and how expensive these things are. We try to respect our neighbours when using these toys and would hope that if we are being a nuisance in any way that they would tell us so that we could fix it (as of yet they have not complained). The only complaint that my neighbours have had is that if this by-law is passed then they would have to move because they could not afford to store there trailer any where. (For those of you who do not know the cost of a trailer or other toys look it up) I would rather have my children out side on one of these things enjoying the fresh air then stuck in the house playing video games or watching TV.

On the topic of school buses my hat goes off to those brave drivers who take our children to and from school every day in all kinds of weather for a meeger minimum wage. Yes people do commute every day to work but these people also make three times as much as our bus drivers do.

In my opinion the fact that so many people in this area do own all these toys shows me that our economy is good to own these things. For those people who do not own any toys it tells me that they are either jealous of there neighbours or just that they don't know how to have fun. As well there are a lot of people who only come to this area in the summer to stay at their cottages what will they do with their toys? Sell them? No they will just leave this area and take their money to another township that will appreciate them.

If you have a problem with your neighbour having a toy then ask them nicely to move it out of your view.

There are more important things that this area needs to concern themselves with like where are all the children going to go school when 500 more homes are built, or how are they going to get to the new Rec. Centre when it is built. Leash and poop-and- scoop laws for dog owners. The list goes on.

Like I said this is only my opinion

Thank You C. Robberts
