South Simcoe Police kick off boating season
by Michelle Minnoch

The South Simcoe Police ended boating week last Friday with the summer launch of their 26 foot Harbourcraft vessel "The Wardrop II" and information regarding boating safety.

"It is important to promote the safety of boating," remarked Police Chief Bruce Davis.

He said the boating season has just begun, and with 45 miles of shoreline in the jurisdiction of the SSP Marine Unit, they are hoping for a safe season.

Members of the York Region marine Unit were also onhand. Community sponsors Lefroy Harbour Resorts and St. Onge Recreation were onhand to receive a plaque of appreciation for their ongoing support of the SSP Marine Unit.
