South Simcoe Police Assault/Uttering Threats On Tuesday May 22, at approximately 5:00 p.m. police were called to an Innisfil address for a report of a domestic assault. Upon arrival, officers learned that a female had been assaulted by her boyfriend of 9 months. During their argument her boyfriend also threatened to kill her and her two children. The male had fled the residence prior to the officers arrival. Several hours later police received a call that the male had returned to the residence. Officers attended and arrested him after a short struggle. A 38 year old Innisfil male was charged with Assault, Assault with a Weapon, Uttering Threats, Breach of Probation, and Breach of Recognizance. He was held for a bail hearing on May 23rd. Theft On Tuesday May 22, at approximately 12:25 p.m. police were called to a construction site on Holland St. W. in the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury for a report of a theft. Investigation revealed that sometime between May 20th in the evening and May 21st in the morning person(s) unknown stole three fork lifts and a pallet truck from the job site. The fork lifts were all identified as new 2007 propane powered orange Toyota Fork-lifts, the hydraulic pallet Truck was made by Jet. The total value of the theft exceeded $90,000.00. Anyone with information about this theft is asked to call the South Simcoe Police at 905-775-3311 or Crimestoppers at 1-800-222- TIPS. Theft Police are investigating the theft of a red and silver 2000 Kawasaki STX personal watercraft from an Innisfil residence sometime between May 18th and May 21st. The watercraft was on a white 2001 NORT Trailer that was also taken and was parked in the backyard of the property. Total value of the theft is approximately $5,000.00 Anyone with information on this theft is asked to call the South Simcoe Police at 905-775- 3311 or Crimestoppers at 1- 800-222-TIPS. Mischief to Schools South Simcoe Police are investigating mischiefs done to five different schools in the Town of Bradford. Between May 19th and May 22nd, five schools have been the target of vandals. A school portable was also entered and a small amount of property removed. The damage consists mostly of rocks being thrown through windows of the schools and of portables on the school property. South Simcoe Police are requesting the assistance of the public in locating those responsible for the damages. Should anyone have information relating to these matters they are urged to contact the South Simcoe Police or Crimestoppers. Assault On 24rd May 2007 South Simcoe Police investigated an assault involving a 37 year old Bradford male and his wife and daughter. The male was charged with two counts of Assault and one charge of Bodily Harm - overcoming resistance contrary to the Criminal Code. The incidents took place over the past several months. The male was released on a Promise to Appear with a court date in Bradford Court. Driving Complaint On 24 May South Simcoe Police investigated two dirtbikes driving on Salem Rd in Innisfil. Both motorcycles initially failed to stop for police and one eventually fled the scene. The second motorcycle stopped for police and the driver was investigated for Fail to stop and numerous other Highway Traffic Act offences. The driver of the other motorcycle returned to the scene a short time later with his parent. A 13 year old male and a 15 year old male from Barrie were both charged with Fail to Stop for Police and Drive Motor Vehicle No Licence. Their parents were notified and both are required to appear in Youth Court in Barrie. Impaired Driving On Saturday May 25th, at approx. 0310 hrs a South Simcoe Police Officer observed a suspicious vehicle leave a residence in Alcona. The vehicle appeared to be in a hurry. The officer observed the vehicle all over the road. Before the officer was able to pull over the vehicle the driver pulled into a private driveway. The officer observed the driver leave the vehicle and apprehended the driver before they reached her house. A 47 year old female Alcona resident was arrested for Impaired driving. She will appear in court in July. House Fire 5th S/R Bradford West Gwillimbury On Saturday, May 26th, at approx. 11:24 a.m. Bradford Fire Dept and the South Simcoe police received a call to attend to the 5th Side road of Bradford West Gwillimbury as a house had caught fire. Police and Fire attended and were quick to learn that everyone was out of the house. The house was fully engulfed when fire arrived on scene. The old Victorian home completely burnt to the ground. The Ontario Fire Marshals office were called in to investigate. At the time of the press release the fire was still under investigation. If anyone has any information regarding the fire your asked to contact the South Simcoe Police Service. Impaired Driving (ATV) On Saturday, May 26th, 2007 at approx. 2000 hrs a South Simcoe Police officer was travelling on the 25th side road when he observed an ATV go through a stop sign. The ATV then proceeded to travel north bound on the 25th side road in the Town of Innisfil at a high rate of speed. The officer caught up to the ATV and activated his roof lights and siren to advise the driver to pull over. The male eventually stopped the ATV and the officer observed signs of impairment. The 26 year old Innisfil man was arrested and charged with Impaired driving, drive while disqualified and numerous HTA offences. While the male was in the rear of the cruiser he became upset and started to smash his helmet up against the rear window trying to get out. The officer had to pepper spray the driver to gain compliance. Possession, Controlled Substance and Prohibited Weapon On Sunday May 27, members of the South Simcoe Police Service observed a vehicle on Mapleview Dr from southbound 25 Sideroad, Innisfil. Police approached the vehicle and while speaking to the driver observed a white plastic shot glass in the drivers door panel with a small quantity of marijuana. Police arrested this male and checked his front pants pocket and located powdered cocaine. The male was charged with Possession of Controlled Substances and was released pending trial. A passenger in the vehicle was also investigated and was charged with possession of a prohibited weapon. Possession Controlled Substance On Sunday May 27, a male party was stopped for equipment violations under the Highway Traffic Act on St Pauls Road at Innisfil Beach Road, Innisfil. Investigation revealed a quantity of marijuana (approx 1/2 gram) sitting on the floor beside the drivers seat and an open container of liquor in the vehicle. That male party was arrested and later released pending trial. |
