Wolfpack Summer Shootout a huge success

The Innisfil Wolfpack Minor Lacrosse Bantam Box team won the Championship for the Bantam division of the Innisfill Wolfpack Summer Shoot-Out Tournament that was decided by an amazing 11 shooter shoot-out living up to the Tournament's name. The tournament was held June 1 - 3, 2007, in Stroud, Lefroy and Bradford arena's.

Game 1 - Friday, June 1, 2007, - Lefroy arena. The Bantam Wolfpack team came out strong to win their opening game against Northumberland by a score of 13 - 3. Travis Neto led the Pack with an 8 point night. Scoring by Travis Neto 3 Goals + Assists 5, Daniel MacIntyre 2 Goals 2 + 1 Assist, Daniel Hogan 3 Goals 3 + Assist, Vaughan Pilote - 3 Goals, Cody Pike - 1 Goal, 1 Assist, Marcus Richardson 1 Assist & Jamie Lee with 1 Goal + 1 Assist.

Game 2 - Saturday, June 2, 2007, - Bradford Community Centre. The Pack faced a bigger, stronger and very physical squad from Owen Sound and ended up on the bottom end of the scoreboard losing 6 - 4. Goals scored by Travis Neto, Mackenzie Johnston, Daniel Hogan & Josh Robinson, Assists by Jacob Taylor, Travis Neto & Vaughan Pilote.

Game 3 - Saturday, June 2, 2007, - Stroud Arena. The team was in a must win situation to move on to the semi-finals and the boys did not disappoint. Coach K.C. Patterson urged the boys on and the team came up with a 10 - 1 victory over Sudbury to secure a spot in the Semi Finals. The passing and control that the Wolfpack team showed in this game define what this sport is all about. Scoring by Travis Neto 2 Goals, Damiel MacIntyre 2 Goals, Daniel Hogan 2 Goals + 1 Assist, Kevin Robinson, 1 Goal, Cody Pike, 1 Goal + 2 Assists, Jacob Taylor 1 Goal, and Josh Robinson with an assist. Innisfil ended Round Robin play in 2nd place A Pool, just missing 1st place by .002 GF/GA Average.

Semi-Finals - Sunday, June 3, 2007 - Bradford Arena. The team played against a smaller but very fast and very skilled squad from Brampton and came out on top with a score of 6 - 2 to move on to the Championship game. Scoring by Daniel Hogan with 3 Goals, Daniel MacIntyre with 2 Goals, Jacob Taylor with 1 Goal. Assists by Josh Robinson (2), Mackenzie Johnston (2), Vaughan Pilote, Kevin Robinson, Cody Pike and Travis Neto each with singles.

Championship Game - Sunday, June 3, 2007 - Bradford Arena - It was hot outside but it was hotter in the arena! The Wolfpack met up with Owen Sound in a rematch for the Champtionship game. The pack opened the scoring 8 seconds into the first period on a corner shot from Jacob Taylor assisted by Josh Robinson. With 55 seconds left in the first, Cody Pike picked a corner and scored on a pass from Barry Leung. Owen Sound scored with 32 seconds left in the first to make it 2-1 for the Wolfpack going into the second period. Jamie Lee scored for the Wolfpack with an unassisted goal in the second to make the score 3-1 for the pack but the lead was cut short and Owen Sound took the lead by scoring 3 unanswered goals in the second to take the lead 4-3. The Wolfpack were not going to let Owen Sound win this game though, Josh Robinson scored on a pass from Daniel Hogan with 10 minutes and twenty nine seconds left in the game to tie the game 4 - 4. The rest of the game would be scoreless with some great goaltending and strong defence by both teams to force this game into a Shoot-Out. The shoot out went an amazing 11 players per side with some tense moments on each side. The Wolfpack scored 4 Goals (+ 3 disallowed goals) out of 11 Shooteres and Owen Sound scored 3 out of 11 Shooters before the game was decided and the Wolfpack were declared the Winners. Awesome saves by Goaltender Rance Vigneux to hold the team in there. Scoring in the Shoot Out for Innisfil, Daniel Hogan, Kevin Robinson, Cody Pike and Mackenzie Johnston with the winning shot. Way to go Wolfpack and Coach K.C. Patterson!
