Literacy results improving

Simcoe County's Literacy results seem to be improving in the province wide EQAO testing.

Grade 10 students in March wrote the Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test with a provincial average of 84% of fully participating students passing.

The Simcoe Muskoka Catholic School Board had a passing percentage of 83% with the public school board at 80%.

Top school in South Simcoe was Holy Trinity in Bradford at 88% followed by Banting Memorial in Alliston at 82%.

St. Thomas Aquinas in Tottenham came in at 81% while

Nantyr Shores in Innisfil also show improved results of 80%. Bradford High School scored 78%.
