Summerfest incidents
RIDE Program

On Friday June 15, The South Simcoe Police Service conducted a RIDE Program at Innisfil Beach Road and St. John's Road in the Town of Innisfil in conjunction with the Innisfil Summerfest activities taking place at Innisfil Beach Park.

A total of 300 vehicle were stopped, which resulted in 7 road side tests, 2 - 12 hour licence suspensions, 3 Highway Traffic Act charges, 7 Liquor Licence Act charges, and 2 charges under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. 7 cautions were also given for various minor infractions.

Liquor Acts

The South Simcoe Police investigated a number of liquor infractions as a result of the Innisfil Summerfest activities as Innisfil Beach Park during the evening of June 15th.

Two intoxicated males were arrested for their own safety and held until sober, and a couple of liquor seizures were made by police in, or near Innisfil Beach Park

Theft

On Friday June 15, police attended a residence in Innisfil on the shore of Lake Simcoe for a report of a theft. The complainant advised police that he had both radios stolen out of his boats that were docked on the water at his property.

Both were identified as Clarion A/M CD players. One of the boats also had both leather seats removed as well as its life jackets, flares, and oars. Police are investigating.

Over 80 mgs

On 16 June, South Simcoe Police were conducting a RIDE program on Innisfil Beach Rd in Alcona. A 41 yr old Innisfil male was stopped driving a motor vehicle and it was determined that he had been drinking. The driver was given a Roadside Screening Device and registered a FAIL.

The Accused was transported to the South Simcoe Police North Division where a breathalyzer revealed that the Accused was over the legal limit and the Accused was charged with Impaired Over 80 and now has a court date in July.

The driver was also issued a 90 day drivers licence suspension.
