Larger stop signs for 20th Sideroad

Deputy Mayor Gord Wauchope brought forth a motion Wednesday night regarding larger stop signs along the 20th Sideroad.

"With all the accidents along Big Bay Point and 20th Sideroad area, we should be cautious all along there."

Mayor Brian Jackson said he receives a lot of phone calls about the problems along the 20th Sideroad and Lockhart.

Councilor Bill Pring asked for a report back from the roads department, to see if installing the larger signs was contravening the Highway Traffic Act.

"I doubt there would be repercussions for highway safety," Mayor Jackson said. "The repercussions would be if you installed the signs after the accident."
