South Simcoe Police Possession of Stolen Property/Burglary Tools/Theft Under $5000/Trespass by Night On June 19, at approximately 3:25a.m. South Simcoe Police received a call from a resident regarding a suspicious green van on Prince Dr in the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury. Police checked the area and located the vehicle nearby parked the wrong way on Roughley St. While police were speaking with the female passenger, a male walked out from between the houses. Although the male tried to say he was only relieving himself, he was unable to explain ownership of the concrete saw and other property that were observed by officers inside the van. As a result of the investigation, police have charged a 35 year old Toronto male with Possession of Stolen Property, Theft Under $5000, Possession of Break and Enter Instruments, and Trespass by Night. The male was also on parole serving weekend house arrest and he has been detained in custody. Police have also charged a 24 year old Toronto female for Possession of Stolen Property and Possession of Break and Enter Instruments, the female has been released from custody on a Promise to Appear. Fail to Comply with Undertaking On June 19, South Simcoe Police attended a residence on Forest St in the Town of Innisfil in regards to speaking with the victim of an assault from a few days earlier. Upon arriving at the residence police were greeted at the door by the male who was arrested a few days earlier for assaulting his spouse. The male had been released with conditions to not be at the residence. The male was arrested and police have charged a 64 year old Innisfil male with Fail to Comply with Undertaking, and he is being held in custody pending a bail hearing later this date. Mischief Over $5000 At approximately 10:30 am June 20 South Simcoe Police responded to a vandalism complaint on Anna Maria Avenue, Innisfil. On arrival a vehicle was found to be extensively damaged by youths jumping on the vehicle and breaking windows. Damage was in excess of $5000. One of the youths, a 16 year old male, was identified as being responsible for the damage. The youth was charged with Mischief Over $5000 and released to his uncle. Arrest of wanted person for Durham Regional Police South Simcoe Police arrested at 43 year old male, originally from Oshawa, for Breach of Undertakingat the request of Durham Regional Police. The male had been charged recently by Durham Regional Police with a domestic assault offence and released on conditions not to communicate with the victim of the assault. On June 19th the male communicated with the assault victim in contravention of an Undertaking he had entered into upon his earlier release. The male was located at his sisters residence in Innisfil. Durham Regional Police have held the male for a Bail Hearing in Oshawa on June 21st, 2007. Break, Enter and Theft South Simcoe Police are investigating a break-in at a Frederick Street, Bradford, youth centre where electronic video game equipment was stolen. Sometime during the early morning hours of 20 June 2007 entry was gained to the Youth Centre through a window that had been forced open. Over $3000 worth equipment was stolen. Male was located at an Innisfil Beach Road Variety store and was found to have consumed alcohol and was with a female that he had a condition of non-association or communication on an outstanding charge. Male was arrested for the 2 Breaches of condition and held for a Bail Hearing. Breach Probation South Simcoe Police while investigating an Animal Complaint found a 37 year old Innisfil male Breaching his Probationary conditions. Male was located at an Innisfil Beach Road Variety store and was found to have consumed alcohol and was with a female that he had a condition of non-association or communication on an outstanding charge. Male was arrested for the 2 Breaches of condition and held for a Bail Hearing. Update on School bus involved - child struck - Cookstown Child is now at home recovering with family. Doing well and expected to recover. Investigation is still ongoing. Indecent Acts The South Simcoe Police have charged a 34 year old Barrie male with Indecent Acts after he was observed by plainclothes officers masturbating in the bathroom of an Innisfil Park on Friday June 22, 2007. The male was released at the scene and will appear in a Bradford court in July to answer to the charge. Break and Enter The South Simcoe Police are investigating a break in to an Innisfil cottage that occurred sometime in the past several weeks. The cuprit(s), who forced their way in through a window, made off with a portable Sony stereo system and a Sony DVD/VCR system. Assault On Saturday June 23, at approximately 5:00 a.m. police were called to a Bradford West Gwillimbury residence for a domestic dispute. Investigation revealed that a male and female had assaulted eachother during an alcohol induced argument. As a result, a 23 year old Bradford male was charged with Assault and released from custody. A 22 year old female, also from Bradford, who was on probation at the time, was arrested and charged with Assault, Mischief Under $5,000.00 and Breach of Probation. She was held for a bail hearing later the same day. Assault On Sunday June 24, at approximately 12:20 a.m. police responded to a disturbance call in the parking lot of a Bradford West Gwillimbury apartment complex. Officers attended and located a male and female arguing. The male told police that during the argument his girlfriend had slapped him in the face. The female, a 16 year old Bradford resident, was arrested and charged with Assault. She was released from custody and will appear in Youth Court in July to answer to the charges. Drug Possession On Sunday June 24, at approximately 12:50 a.m. a male party attended the South Simcoe Police station in an enraged state after his girlfriend had been arrested for assaulting him. The male entered the front lobby and punched a glass window. Officers attended the lobby and arrested the male for Breach of the Peace. He was escorted into the cell block where a search of his person turned up a quantity of cannabis marihuana. The male, a 20 year old Bradford resident, was charged with Possession of a Controlled substance and released when he had calmed down. Assault On Friday June 22, at approximately 7:00 p.m. police received a report from the Children's Aid Society of a possible assault that had occurred the previous evening at a Bradford residence. Officers investigated and learned that a female had been assaulted by her husband during the evening of June 21, 2007. During the assault, the victim received a minor injury to her eye that was still quite noticeable. The suspect, a 41 year old Bradford resident, was arrested at his place of business, charged with Assault, and held for a bail hearing on June 23, 2007 |
