South Simcoe Police Domestic Assault A 22 year-old female complained to South Simcoe Police that she had been assaulted by her 23 year-old common-law boyfriend while in their Centre Street Bradford apartment. An argument had broken out between the two and the male grabbed the female by the throat when she was in the shower. The male also damaged the apartment phone when the female attempted to call 9-1-1. Male was charged with Domestic Assault and Domestic Mischief Under $5000. Male was released with conditions not to associate or communicate with victim. Possession of Marijuana South Simcoe Police Bike Patrol Officers were patrolling the Alcona area and came upon 4 youths near the Innisfil Library, Alcona Branch at approximately 10:00 pm, June 29. Youths were engaged in using marijuana and had other drug paraphernalia with them. One of the youths was found to have approximately 25 grams of marijuana on him which he attempted to hide from the officers. A 16 year-old Alcona male has been charged Possession of Marijuana contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. Mischief to Property On Sunday July 1, at approximately 12:50 a.m. police received a call to attend an elementary school in Stroud for a report of a possible break in. Officers attended and met security who had responded to an alarm at the school and found that a window in a door on the east side of the building had been smashed. Nothing was taken, and it is unsure of the culprits entered the building. Police are investigating. On Sunday July 1, at approximately 10:30 p.m. police were called back to the school for a second broken window that had been located. Officers attended and found a broken window in an east side door. Nothing appeared to have been taken from the school. Anyone with information on these occurrences is asked to call Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS, or at www.1800222 tips.com Impaired Driving On Sunday July 1, at approximately 6:10 p.m. police responded to a motor vehicle collision at the 5th Side Road and the 10th Concession of Innisfil. Police attended and arrested one of the driver's for Impaired Driving. He was transported to the station were he provided a breath sample that was just 6 mgs under the legal limit. As a result, he was issued a 12 hour licence suspension, and charged under the Highway Traffic Act with Failing to Yield to Traffic on a Through Highway. Robbery/Forcible Confinement/Breach of Conditions The South Simcoe Police have arrested and charged a 26 year old female from Bradford with Robbery, Forcible Confinement and three counts of Breach of Probation after an investigation. Police received a complaint from a female that she was robbed of her cell phone at knife point and held against her will at a Bradford residence on June 27. Police located the suspect on June 30th while investigating an unrelated incident and arrested her. In the course of their investigation, officers discovered the suspect had also breached three different conditions of her probation order that was issued as a result of previous charges. Public Intoxication On Saturday June 30, at approximately 8:40 p.m. police were called to a Bradford Bar by a female who indicated there was a disturbance and she needed help. Officers arrived and located the female. Police determined that no disturbance had taken place and observed the female was intoxicated. She was arrested and held in custody until sober. She was charged with Public Intoxication and released the following morning. Breach of Probation/ Obstruct Police/ Weapons Dangerous On Monday July 2nd, officers from the South Simcoe Police Service were patrolling the 7th Line of Innisfil at Lake Simcoe after they had received several ongoing complaints of youths loitering in the area. At approximately 8:00pm, uniformed officers located a group of young teens consuming alcohol in the immediate area. One of the youths, a 14-year old Innisfil teen, falsely identified herself to officers during the investigation. The youth is known to police and one of the officers recognized her and knew she was lying about her identity. Officers also knew that she was on several outstanding probations orders, including a condition that prohibited her from consuming any alcohol. As a result, she was placed under arrest for Breach of Probation and Obstructing Police. When the officers searched her, they discovered a homemade weapon concealed in her clothing.
