      The announcement on Friday at the Lake Simcoe Summit was a good one - Premier McGuinty said that the Lake Simcoe Act would be coming soon to a legislature near you. Good to know, but there's something that's missing here. Oh yes, there's an election coming this fall.

      Dear editor, Re: Letter to Rob McAuley I note with interest that the County of Simcoe has been give funding to upgrade local schools. In particular, Goodfellow Public School has been given over $400,000.00 to upgrade their parking lot.

Fire ban
      Due to the recent string of nice weather, the extended forecast of dry weather for the coming days, the Fire Danger Rating has reached the high extreme level. Because of the increased risk, a total fire ban has been implemented.
