Work on schools should be co-ordinated with town
Dear editor,

Re: Letter to Rob McAuley

I note with interest that the County of Simcoe has been give funding to upgrade local schools.

In particular, Goodfellow Public School has been given over $400,000.00 to upgrade their parking lot.

It's about time.

This parking lot has been a breeding ground for potholes for years. They seem to multiply after every rain.

Despite pleading, arguing and occasional shoving matches, the problems of this parking lot have never been solved.

The solution is simple:

When the parking lot is finally paved, put a concrete island, with bollards, one laneway east of the existing sidewalk in front of the school existing unpaved lot.

Then, and this is most important, make the MAIN entrance one way (south) to the school the NINTH LINE. Busses, cars, etc., all come in the same entrance. They drop passengers off on either side of the concrete island, and depart using the 25th sideroad exit. A traffic light at this intersection is much needed. If combined with the existing crosswalk, the problem is solved.

It is my understanding that this work has to be co-ordinated with the Town of Innisfil. If the town's planners are involved, it should take no time at all to study the traffic flow, see the most efficient way, and proceed without delay.

My son, Steven Brown, suggested this to the school some years ago.

Now is the chance to do it right, for the continued safety or our children.

Thank you Rob, for taking the time to read my letter, and I look forward to your reply.

Yours sincerely, Nola Wale

President Residents of Innisfil Association, Innisfil
